Privacy Policy

Big Baller Vegas is a private golf scoring app operated by Matt Tucker. It is used by a small group of golfers to keep score, track a wagering game called Vegas, and share results among the people who played. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

Mobile phone number — used to sign you in and, if you choose, to send you your own round results.
Email address — used as an alternative sign-in method.
Name or nickname — shown to the other players in your group.
Handicap index and tee selection — used to calculate strokes and scoring.
Golf scores and results — the rounds you play, the scores entered, and the resulting standings.
Optional payment handles — a Venmo or Zelle identifier, if you enter one, so your group can settle up. We do not process payments and never see payment credentials.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with anyone. Mobile numbers are used only to sign you in and to send results to players who took part in the round. They are never shared with third parties, affiliates, or advertisers for marketing or promotional purposes, and no mobile information is shared for those purposes under any circumstances.

Message frequency. Sign-in codes are sent only when you request one — typically a few times a year. Result messages are sent only after a round you played in, at most a few times per month.

How we use it

To sign you in and keep you signed in.
To calculate strokes, scores and the money for the rounds you play.
To show your results to the other players in those rounds.
To send you a one-time code when you sign in, and your own results after a round if you have saved a phone number.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone outside your golf group.

Who can see your information

Other players in a round can see your name, handicap index, scores and standings for that round — the same information that would be on a paper scorecard. Season standings are visible to players you have shared a round with.

We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, Netlify for hosting, and Twilio for sending text messages. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Text messages

You provide your mobile number by entering it yourself in the app. Entering it and submitting the form is your consent to receive a verification code at that number. Saving a number in your profile is your consent to receive your own results after rounds you played in.

All messages are transactional. We do not send marketing or promotional messages. You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, or by removing your number from your profile.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your scores and results for as long as you use the app, so that season standings and history work. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact address below, and we will do so within a reasonable period.

Security

Data is stored with Supabase and protected by row-level security so players can only see data for rounds they are part of. Sign-in uses one-time codes rather than passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment credentials and we do not collect information beyond what the app needs to work.

Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
